Forum carts and parts-house restocks are a better signal than a press release. This is a snapshot of what people are putting in boxes right now, not a ranked “best of.”
Midwoofers: 6–8" paper or coated-paper cones with published Klippel-ish data still win for first serious two-ways. If the only spec is “powerful bass,” keep walking.
Tweeters: waveguided 1" domes remain the default. A naked dome on a wide baffle is a diffraction project. If you want a ribbon, budget the time to get the vertical off-axis under control.
We will not invent a leaderboard or a star rating. If a driver is here, it is because builders are cutting wood around it — and because the datasheet exists.
